ZapTap Privacy Policy

Effective September 15, 2026

Your clipboard belongs on your Mac, not on our servers.

This policy covers the ZapTap Mac app, its product and support pages, and support communications with Twillful, operated by Andrew Chwalik. It does not describe unrelated services on the Twillful website.

Information stored on your Mac

ZapTap saves the links you add, clipboard preferences, and, when recording is enabled, a local history of up to 100 text items in total, including up to 10 pinned items. Names you give pinned items and your saved item order are also stored locally.

ZapTap does not upload your saved links or clipboard history to us or to a developer-operated server. The app has no advertising, tracking, or developer-operated analytics service. You do not need a ZapTap account.

Clipboard recording

When recording is enabled, ZapTap checks for newly copied text while it is running. Copied text can include passwords, financial details, or other sensitive information. ZapTap does not promise to detect or exclude sensitive text automatically.

You can turn Record Clipboard off from the menu at any time. Pausing recording does not erase previously saved items.

ZapTap ignores empty text and text longer than 5,000 characters. It stores text, not images or files. Saved text is kept in local application files; ZapTap does not add its own encryption to these files. Your device settings and backup services may affect access to or copies of these files.

Your choices and retention

Unpinned history stays until you delete it or newer items displace it within the storage limit. Pinned items stay until removed or unpinned; unpinned items then follow the normal history limit. Your device backups may retain older copies separately.

Opening links and Apple services

Opening a saved link sends it to your default browser. The destination website has its own privacy practices, which ZapTap does not control.

For App Store versions, Apple handles purchases and updates. Apple also handles diagnostics you choose to share under its own settings and privacy policy. We do not receive your payment card details through ZapTap.

These web pages

The ZapTap pages are hosted on GitHub Pages. Requests to load them are handled by GitHub, which may process technical information such as your IP address and request details under the GitHub Privacy Statement. These pages do not add analytics scripts, advertising trackers, or a ZapTap account system.

Support and privacy requests

If you email , we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. Our email provider processes these communications so we can receive and answer them. We use them to handle your request, troubleshoot issues, and keep relevant support records, not to send marketing without your consent.

We retain support correspondence as needed to resolve requests and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations. You may contact us to request access to or deletion of support correspondence, subject to those obligations. We cannot remotely access or delete clipboard history stored on your Mac. Please do not send passwords or private clipboard content in a support request.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as ZapTap changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. For questions, contact Andrew Chwalik / Twillful at .
